Store Manager




Responsible for overall leadership, coaching, and building an independent, committed, high-performing team to achieve results and drive company strategy.


The Store Manager is accountable for:


  • The well-being of pets in our care

  • Customer engagement

  • Driving DOGPerfect’s sales strategies while achieving profitability and controlling expenses

  • Driving services (Dog Socialization, Grooming)

  • Delivering brand standards

  • Ensuring operational excellence

  • Connecting with the community


Principle Accountabilities

May include, but not limited to, the following:


  • Accountable for leading and holding team accountable for driving DOGPerfect’s mission, core values, vision and strategy every day.

  • Responsible for achieving P&L expectations such as expense and sales targets.

  • Responsible for utilizing current company strategy for associate hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management to create a best in class workforce.

  • Create and review weekly schedules and weekly payroll reports.

  • Responsible for the development of management staff through coaching and weekly one on ones with direct reports.

  • Ensures the safety/security of company assets, customers, pets, and associates through regular store walks, ensures monthly meetings are held, and training of the store’s standards/compliance with company and government safety standards.

  • Fosters relationships with our adoption partners.

  • Leads a culture of empowerment through utilizing code of ethics, policies, and standard operating procedures.

  • Fosters a culture of diversity and inclusion with associates to create an engaging environment.

  • Responsible for driving customer engagement through local marketing.

  • Represents the company to outside organizations within the local community.

  • Follows all policies and procedures.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Typically supervises 3-4 managers and oversees up to 15 associates (non-supervisory) within the store. Carries out responsibilities in conjunction with DOGPerfect’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and coaching associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the store manager is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, or feel. The store manager frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and/or hear. The store manager is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. The store manager must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and or move in excess of 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception.


Exposure to live animals and their handling is common.
