Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, so why not make sure your pup can join in on the spooky activities? We put together some ideas to help you and your dog celebrate Halloween in the most fun and safe way possible!
Involve Your Pup in Pumpkin Carving
We know not every dog will fit inside a pumpkin, but you can always carve or decorate the pumpkin in their honor! Don’t worry, you don’t have to be a professional pumpkin carver for this. There are plenty of carving patterns available online with a quick Google search. Your dog will enjoy sitting by your side watching you create a masterpiece! While your pup is helping you out, you can pick them up a spooky treat to enjoy from our bakery selection here at DOGPerfect!
Go Trick-or-Treating with Your Dog
Bring your pup with you while trick-or-treating if your dog is comfortable in new situations and doesn’t get anxious easily. Since it is dark outside, make sure they have reflective gear on, like a vest, leash, and/or collar to make sure they are visible. Halloween night can be unpredictable with noises and children running around, so keep in mind it might spook your pup more than on a normal night. Does your pup need some help with loose leash walking or distractions? Contact a DOGPerfect store near you and set up a free 30-minute consult with our dog trainer Victoria. She can help your pup get ready in time for Halloween!
Dress Them Up & Bring Your Pup to our Halloween Contest Event!

Enjoy Halloween Inside
Maybe it’s your preference, or maybe it is your dog’s, but there is nothing wrong with staying inside during Halloween. It can be a lot to take in and a lot of stimulation for your pup if they are not used to all the action and strange sounds happening! A scary movie is a great alternative, while still keeping in the spooky spirit. Cuddle up on the couch with your pup and enjoy the night together inside! You can also come into DOGPerfect and grab them a spooky toy to play with while they enjoy the night inside!
Head to a Pumpkin Patch
There are so many great Halloween themed activities to do during the month! Not all pumpkin patches are dog-friendly, but a majority are. You can check out the Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival that goes on in Bradenton every weekend for the entire month of October. It’s a great way to enjoy the beautiful fall weather with your pup and pick out a pumpkin! They even have a “Tricky Dogs Show” you can attend this weekend after our Halloween Costume Contest! 😊
